Farms of the Future are Smart Farms

We’re excited to announce that Pairtree is an official Program Partner for the NSW DPI’s Farms of the Future (FotF) program in 2023.

The FotF program aims to improve connectivity and encourage the uptake of agricultural technologies (agtech) to boost productivity and improve resource management and climate change resilience, with $20 million in grants available to farmers in five target regions.

This follows the successful Farms of the Future pilot project in 2020, where three pilot farms tested a wide range of technologies so producers could experience agtech on-site and in virtual tours, and the farmers provided invaluable insights and feedback about their experiences to help shape the new program.

Pairtree played a key role in the pilot project by centralising data from 20 different types of devices, from eight different suppliers, on four different networks (LoRaWAN, Wi-Fi, cellular and satellite) at the three farms that showcased the technology options (see videos below).

By using Pairtree dashboards the farmers could access, view and understand data feeds from all the devices they were trialling more easily and effectively, including water tank, trough, bore level and irrigation monitors, soil moisture probes, in crop sensors, remote weather stations, video surveillance, in paddock cattle weighing & monitoring and more.

As a Program Partner, Pairtree is one of a select number of eligible companies in the official Agtech Catalogue, where you can spend your Farms of the Future grant to set up your farm for the future and even claim your subscription fees until mid-2025.

This means you can choose the agtech solutions from different providers that work best for your operation and Pairtree can pull it all together into an easy to use, single log in dashboard for you, plus deliver all the added benefits of a Pairtree PLUS subscription.

The elibible LGAs are: Carrathool, Griffith and Leeton; Armidale; Moree Plains and Narrabri; Orange and Cabonne; Ballina, Byron and Lismore. Be sure to register your interest with the DPI for updates.

Even if you’re not eligible, Pairtree is always here to help you get the most out of your agtech. In addition to integrating all of your agtech devices & services, Pairtree also delivers you access to hyper-localised weather forecasting, livestock and grain markets, detailed spray conditions forecasting, farm mapping and satellite imagery.

For a limited time, we are offering a 30 day free trial of Pairtree PLUS so you can experience farm data at your fingertips.
